The San Francisco-based e-cigarette company Juul Labs is considering opening up its own retail stores, according to a source, CNN reported.

The company has hired a small team to help with launching its first shops in Houston and Dallas, Texas, where only mint, menthol and tobacco flavours would be sold, according to the source. The company would continue to sell other flavours, such as mango, cucumber, fruit and crème, through its online portal, the source said.
Although the company’s plans to open its own vape shops have not been finalised, the source says that Juul Labs’ retail stores would only be accessible to those 21 and over, and that store clerks would check customers’ IDs at the door, CNN reported. The company is also deliberating opening vape shops in South Korea, the source added. Juul products are currently being sold in some gas stations and vape shops and other retail locations.
Juul declined to comment on this story, according to the report.
