Juul Labs has released a press release announcing the suspension of their mint flavoured pods in the US effective immediately.
Juul Labs’ CEO K.C. Crosthwaite explained that in light of recent studies relating to the 2019 National Youth Tobacco Survey and the Monitoring the Future survey, the company would cease selling its mint flavoured pods to retailers in the US and through its website.
According to the press release, Juul Labs has already reviewed large parts of its policies and practices under Crosthwaite, including suspending all broadcast, print and digital advertising in the US and stopping the sale of its flavoured pods nationwide.
Speaking about the results of the different studies, Crosthwaite said, “These results are unacceptable and that is why we must reset the vapour category in the US and earn the trust of society by working cooperatively with regulators, Attorneys General, public health officials, and other stakeholders to combat underage use. We will support the upcoming FDA flavour policy and will follow the PMTA process.”
