Cigarette maker, Korea Tobacco & Ginseng Company, sold more cigarettes outside of South Korea last year than ever before, according to a story in the Korean Herald.
KT&G said it posted record overseas sales of KRW 1.48 trillion (EUR 1.08 billion) in 2017. The company bettered its previous foreign cigarette sales record of KRW 941.4 billion, posted in 2016, the newspaper reported.
KT&G's sold 55.4 billion billion sticks overseas in 2017, around 13.8 per cent more than the 48.7 billion sold overseas in 2016, the Korean Herald said.
KT&G first began selling cigarettes overseas in 1988.
