The Philippines filed a new complaint with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) against Thailand in a dispute that began over alleged discriminatory treatment of tobacco imports to protect the Thai tobacco monopoly, Reuters reported.
Manila in its latest complaint states Thailand failed to comply with a 2011 WTO ruling against it, the news agency said. The dispute has simmered for nine years. The new complaint came after Thai authorities filed criminal charges against Philip Morris Thailand in a tax dispute over cigarette imports.
