The volume of tobacco delivered to market rose to about 4 million kg per day from 3 million kg as the season entered its sixth week, according to Zimbabwe Daily.
A minimum of 104 million kg had been sold via contract and at auction through 36 days, the news site said in a story citing data from the Tobacco Industry Marketing Board. The average price per kilogram was USD 2.81 (EUR 2.59) compared to USD 2.87 in 2016, which has brought in USD 293 million.
