Qatar has reimposed restrictions on commercial activities like smoking shisha in restaurants as the country has recently experienced an increase in COVID-19 infections, reports al-sharq.
Shisha or hookah smoking will be banned in all restaurants and cafés operating in the country, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced on Twitter. The ministry has affirmed that any party that violates this decision will be held accountable and legal action will be taken.
Shisha smoking in cafés was banned once before in early March 2020. In October 2021, the ban was lifted, but only for tourist locations, the report said.
