Mundet,  a Richmond, VA-headquartered rotogravure printer of cigarette tipping papers, announced today the purchase of assets of International Playing Card and Label, a Rogersville, TN-based rotogravure printer of high quality printed packaging for both cigarette and non cigarette consumer products.

The plant located at the Phipps Bend Industrial Park will operate as Mundet Tennessee, Inc. (MTI).
As a result of this acquisition, Mundet, with additional printing plants in Colonial Heights, VA, Buena Vista, VA and Toronto, Canada will now have a combined work force of 330 and sales in excess of US$ 100 million annually.
All current IPC & L employees have been offered employment and a new collective bargaining agreement has been reached with the Graphics Communication International Union, Mundet says.  In addition, the majority of the current management team of IPC & L has been engaged for the first year of Mundet’s ownership to ensure a seamless transition.
