Altria Group, Inc. has announced that its Board of Directors has selected Mark E. Newman to the group’s Board, according to a company press release.

Newman is CFO and senior vice president of The Chemours Company, which is a global chemical corporation. Furthermore, Newman is the executive sponsor of the Chemours Black Employee Network at Chemours.
In 2014, he began working for Chemours, which was a subsidiary of DuPont at the time. Prior to this, he worked as senior vice president and CFO at SunCoke Energy Inc. from 2011 to 2014. Before 2011, he held various financial and operational management positions at General Motors Corporation, GMAC Financial Services, LLC and Ally Financial Inc.
