After being postponed due to the security situation in Panama, the Conference of the Parties (COP10) to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) has been rescheduled, according to FCTC press release.
The meeting, which sets tobacco policy for most of the world, will now take place from 5 February to 10 February 2024. This comes following communication received from the host country Panama and in consultation with the Bureaus of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the WHO FCTC and of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Protocol. The latter will also take place in Panama and will now be held from 12 February to 15 February 2024.
According to the press release, the Convention Secretariat, in collaboration with the host country, looks forward to welcoming the Parties to the WHO FCTC and to the Protocol to the upcoming sessions of the governing bodies of the treaties and to continue the life-saving work on tobacco control.
