New focus on spirits at InterTabac

At this year’s InterTabac (19 – 21 September), there will be a separate area for spirits and complementary products in the North Entrance complex.
In its 45-year history, InterTabac has undergone rapid development from a local trade show to the world’s leading hub for the tobacco industry, for example with the addition of InterSupply in 2015. Today, the twin shows cover all relevant areas of the tobacco industry, including cigars, cigarillos, cigarettes, pipes, pipe tobacco, fine cut, RYO, MYO, and also next-generation products such as tobacco heaters, nicotine pouches and e-cigarettes as well as everything related to the associated process chain for manufacturing these products. The two shows are correspondingly relevant for the tobacco industry – InterTabac, for example, has quickly become an absolute ‘must go’ diary date for retailers to get an overview of the latest topics and trends.
To ensure that this continues to be the case going forward, the organisers are consistently evolving the shows’ offering. For example, the next time the shows are held – between 19 and 21 September 2024 at Messe Dortmund – trade visitors will find the wide range of spirits and corresponding products in their own special area for the first time. One of the reasons behind this is the desire expressed in many feedback discussions to be able to examine spirits and, for example, everything to do with shop fittings, displays and checkout systems in one central location. Hitherto, the product groups have been spread across different halls.
Sabine Loos, Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue, emphasised: “In the newly designed area, trade visitors can find out about spirits and corresponding products in an even more concerted and efficient way. This redesign provides an ideal platform for exploring business opportunities in this growing market segment. With this fresh approach, we’re emphasising the increasing importance of the retail trade for the tobacco industry. We are especially looking forward to getting feedback on the new concept from trade visitors – after all, the reorganisation of this area is a direct response to the frequently expressed wishes of our trade show visitors. We’re convinced that this innovation is going be great added value for exhibitors and visitors alike.”
