Northern Ireland Health Minister Jim Wells said his government backs uniform packaging for cigarettes, and that he expects the proposal will be implemented UK-wide in 2016, the BBC said.
Wells said ministers in Wales, Scotland and England all are proposing implementing the same plain-pack legislation backed by the national government that plans a parliamentary vote on the measure prior to 30 March.
