Nova Scotia has become the first Canadian province to ban flavoured e-cigarettes with Health Minister Randy Delorey announcing that the changes will take effect on 1 April 2020, according to CTV News.

The announcement comes amidst a nationwide clampdown on vaping and Ontario has already hinted that they may follow suit in the near future. "This decision is in response to our concerns about the growth in particular of youth vaping," said Delorey.
Between 2017 and 2018 the amount of Canadian youths smoking and vaping increased for the first time in decades and a recent survey by Smoke Free Nova Scotia found that 95 per cent of young people who vape preferred flavours with 48 per cent saying they would quit if flavours were banned, reports CTV News.
Delorey also made known that there were plans in place to roll out a public education campaign and more legislation concerning vaping next year.
