A combination of fewer smokers and more illegal cigarettes for sale in Ontario resulted in a C$ 73.4-million drop in provincial tax revenues in the last year, government figures show.
Canada's most populous province pulled in C$ 1.34 billion in tobacco taxes in 2006, down from C$ 1.45 billion in 2005. (pi)
