Philip Morris yesterday announced the foundation of a new subsidiary, as well as the partnership with a new distribution partner as of January 2013.

Philip Morris GmbH, the Austrian subsidiary of Philip Morris International, has founded a new subsidiary, Philip Morris Austria GmbH, which is to start operating in January 2013. This step comes in light of the expiry of the contract with current distribution partner Tobaccoland at the end of 2012. 
New distribution partner as of January 2013 will be Kuehne & Nagel GmbH, which will cooperate with Philip Morris Austria GmbH. The company will handle the delivery of cigarette brands Marlboro, Chesterfield, L&M, Philip Morris, Muratti and EVE. Kuehne & Nagel International AG is the leading logistics partner of Philip Morris International.
Managing director of the newly founded subsidiary is Alexander Ott, who has held the position of Area Directors Austria at Philip Morris GmbH since July 2010.
