Tobacco products must be sold in uniform packaging without branding elements from 1 July, Norway Today said in a story citing Health Minister Bent Høie.
Norway plans to require a a greenish-brown colour similar to that adopted in countries like France, the UK and Australia that have implemented plain packaging, the English language newspaper said. Exceptions are planned for product groups including pipe tobacco and cigars. A transition period is planned to sell existing stock, the publication said. Details remain to be worked out.
In conjunction with plain packaging, vaping in public places where smoking is not allowed will be banned from July, Norway Today said.
