Philip Morris International (PMI) sold its Moorabbin manufacturing site and will relocate several hundred administrative staff to a building in downtown Melbourne, the Canberra Times said.
Cigarette manufacturing at Moorabbin ceased in 2014, and production was moved to Korea. The site had been the Australian headquarters of the cigarette maker. About 300 employees will move to South Wharf Tower, the newspaper said on its website. PMI reportedly had been seeking AUD 20 million (EUR 13 million for the property. A sale price was not disclosed.
