Rhodia Acetow announced the inauguration of its new coloured tow production facility with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes per year.
The new facility, based at its headquarters in Freiburg, Germany, currently offers eight basic colours of acetate tow, but has been designed to be able to match all colours expected by customers, says Rhodia Acetow.
"This new unit is dedicated to serve markets segments driven by innovation and fashion," said the company in a statement. "It confirms our orientation towards innovation and special products developed specifically for emerging country market segments and customers demands."
Rhodia Acetow, member of the Solvay group, is the third largest producer of cellulose acetate tow with production facilities in Europe, Russia, USA and Brazil. Acetate tow is an essential material in the manufacture of cigarette acetate filters. (ci)
