RJ Reynolds is discontinuing the production of certain types of its flavoured cigarettes, such as its Mandarin Mint Camel Exotic Blends and Midnight Berry Kool Smooth Fusions.
The decision comes after protests claiming these names imply a candy/fruit-based experience, bringing in more potential young smokers.
According to the Wall Street Journal, flavoured cigarettes made up less than 0.1 per cent of RJ Reynolds’ annual cigarette volume. It also stated that the company has stopped making the Camel Exotic Blends line — one of the brands under fire — back in May. (pi)
