Star Agritech International (SAI) has announced the opening of its third Reconstituted Tobacco (Recon) plant within Europe, according to a company press release.
The third plant was opened to meet increasing demand for the company’s high-quality Nano Fibre Recon. SAI already owns two Recon factories – a Slurry type Recon factory in Indonesia and a Nano Fibre Recon factory in Brazil that operates at full capacity.
The company is reaching out to any tobacco companies interested in converting tobacco dust into Recon Tobacco. According to the press release, companies would supply the tobacco dust and SAI would supply other raw materials such as Tobacco Stem Fibres, Additives, CMC, etc. to produce Recon.
SAI produces Recon in Virginia, Burley or mixed Tobacco types depending on the blend requirements of its clients and offers it in Cut and Foil formats. Furthermore, with the constant push from governments to decrease Tar Nicotine and Carbon Monoxide (TNCO) levels in a cigarette blend, SAI, with its Recon, can help cigarette manufacturers adjust their cigarette blends that will comply with the TNCO levels set by the EU.
