Spectra Systems’ TruBrand product verification system, which allows smartphone users to ensure products they are buying are authentic, has been approved by China’s Tobacco Standardisation Research Centre (CTSRC), according to Stock Market Wire.
Spectra Systems Chief Executive Officer Nabil Lawandy reportedly said the CTSRC decision could open the door to a market where more than 200 billion packs of cigarettes are sold annually. Approval for use of TruBrand materials on tobacco products came in response to an application filed by a potential Chinese customer of Spectra, the UK’s Stock Market Wire reported. Spectra Systems is based in the US.
