A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study will examine the economic impact of smoking bans in restaurants and bars in nine states, the CDC Foundation announced Wednesday
RTI International will conduct the study to be funded by Pfizer. Completion date is the second half of next year.
The foundation pursues public-private partnerships that support the work of CDC.
Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and West Virginia comprise the study target group. (ci)
