Cafes and restaurants in Saudi Arabia have been banned from serving shisha and tobacco in an attempt to stop the coronavirus from spreading, according to Gulf News.
Several Saudi cities, including the capital Riyadh, have implemented the temporary ban as a precaution against the coronavirus (COVID-19). Authorities will be making sure that cafes and restaurants adhere to the ban by making field inspections, reports Gulf News.
“Tobacco and the shisha can cause infection transmission as they change hands,” said Saudi Health Minister Tawfik Al Rabih.
So far, fifteen coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Saudi Arabia which has responded by temporarily banning Umrah trips, closing educational institutions and cancelling flights to countries that have been severely hit by the coronavirus.
