Zimbabwean flue-cured tobacco volume sales rose nearly 37 per cent to 99.5 million kg in the 12-month period ending 31 May, The Zimbabwean said in a story citing Tobacco Industry Marketing Board data.
The number of rejected bales increased 22 per cent during the same period. A five-year programme to increase tobacco productivity will be launched next month by the country’s Tobacco Research Board, according to The Zimbabwean. (pi)
