The Health Ministry pushed back the date for introducing graphic warnings covering 85 per cent of the surface on cigarette packaging to April, 2016, Reuters reported.
Originally planned for this past April but scrapped at the last minute, the new date would allow manufacturers time to comply, the news agency reported. The new date also complies with an Indian court ruling that called on the government to enforce the planned warnings, Reuters said. Warnings currently cover 20 per cent of the pack.
