The Supreme Administrative Court overturned a lower court injunction issued last August against introduction of pictorial health warnings on 85 per cent of the front and back of cigarette packs, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Tobacco companies were given 90 days to dispose of existing stock, WHO said. Current regulations call for graphic warnings covering 55 per cent of the pack. The court has not yet ruled on another complaint from tobacco companies, that the new regulations are illegal, WHO said.
