Juul boss apologies to parents

Kevin Burns, the CEO of Juul Labs, the manufacturer of the popular e-cigarette Juul, has made a public apology to parents amid concerns about widespread vaping among youth in a US television documentary, BBC reported.

“I'd tell [parents] I'm sorry their child's using the product. It's not intended for them,” Kevin Burns was quoted as saying in the CNBC documentary, Vaporized: America’s E-cigarette Addiction Kern Burns.
“I hope there was nothing that we did that made it appealing to [youth],” Burns continued.
“As a parent of a 16-year-old, I'm sorry for them, and I have empathy for them, in terms of what the challenges they're going through.”
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found that 21 per cent of school students vaped in 2018, according to the report.
The company has attempted to stop use by children, by, for example, removing its popular sweet and fruit flavoured e-liquids from stores and vaping shops. In the UK, the company recently began a 12-week marketing campaign to persuade smokers to switch to vaping. The advertising features adult smokers and campaign billboards featuring the adult smokers are at least 200 metres from schools, BBC reported.
