Recreational cannabis smokers will be allowed to smoke wherever smoking tobacco is allowed, according to the report.
Smoking bans are currently in place for hospitals, schools, CEGEPs, universities, daycare centres, bars, restaurants, sports centres, concert halls, playgrounds, public transit, in bus shelters and within mine metres of a building or public space where smoking is prohibited.
Mayor Plante said that the exact details about the regulation on non-medicinal cannabis within Montreal would be unveiled in a news conference on 10 October, the Montreal Gazette reported.
