A new general advertising law has been approved by the Hungarian parliament
According to the new regulations, tobacco advertisements may not be displayed on the front page of newspapers, in magazines targeted at minors or within 200 metres of health facilities or schools. Tobacco advertising is prohibited on television and radio. Products must not be associated with certain lifestyles and smoking may not be portrayed as healthy; in fact the advertisement must draw attention to health hazards. Cigarette manufacturers have agreed not to show famous artists or people under 25 years old in their advertisements.
