Hrvatski Duhani, which operates within British American Tobacco (BAT), has opened a new logistics and distribution centre that will store tobacco from 26 countries, reports Total Croatia News.
The new logistics and distribution centre that has opened up in Pitomača, northeastern Croatia, is 4,000 square metres big and can store up to 18,500 standard boxes of tobacco. The facility will store tobacco supplies from 26 countries making it the central hub for providing tobacco supplies to BAT’s factories in Augustow, Poland, Bayreuth, Germany and Pecs, Hungary.
The investment in the centre comes after BAT invested a total of HRK 600 million (USD 81 million) in new production lines in its factory in Kanfanar over the past 2 years and employed 70 more people at that plant, reports Total Croatia News. Croatia has become a firm central point of BAT’s transformation aimed at building a better tomorrow as Tamás Nyaka, Head of Operations at BAT Adria said.
