The US Postal Service (USPS) has enacted restrictions on the mailing of e-cigarettes and other forms of ENDS to consumers, reports MarketWatch.
The USPS has reacted to the Preventing Online Sales of E-Cigarettes to Children Act (POSECCA) that passed Congress in 2020 and required online e-cigarette retailers to verify the age of all customers. An adult with ID needed to be present for delivery and packages containing tobacco products needed to be labelled accordingly.
The new USPS rules mean that the mailing of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) or e-cigarettes is now restricted. According to MarketWatch, adults can still make non-commercial shipments, however, they are limited to 10 shipments over a 30-day period. Hemp and CBD products that fall outside of ENDS, for example vape pens, may still be mailed if they contain less than 0.3 per cent of THC.
