Czech MPs today harmonised a ban on tobacco advertising with the EU, but industry and trade minister Martin Riman said the country still faces a fine for poor compliance with the relevant directive all the same.
The European Commission will review the case on 21 March.
The amendment to the law on the regulation of advertising, passed in faster proceedings, includes a ban on tobacco advertising at the motorbike Grand Prix in Brno, for which the organisers had negotiated an exception from the law. (pi)
