The Trade Ministry has drafted a regulation that would place limits on imported tobacco to ensure the domestic crop is purchased at an adequate price, Antara news agency said.
Indonesian growers produce about 200,000 tons annually and have been hit by falling prices in the domestic market, Antara said. A draft has been prepared and awaits input from stakeholders. It should be completed this year, Antara said, citing remarks by Director for International Trade Oke Nurwan.
